<Shelved - A Case for Proximity (And the Unexpected Intimacy)>

Location: Brooklyn, NY
Year: 2023
8”(w) x 60”(d) x 50”(h)
Materials: salvaged radiator, clay, chain, paper clip, ink on paper, cast iron grate, clay, plastic sheet

A radiator chained to two ink drawings on the wall seems to be urinating and defecating. It appears to be surrounded by an army of character-like clay gestures that has started climbing on top of its body.

This is a site-specific installation developed for a group show at Incubator Studio Gallery. The specific circumstances surrounding that show were the main sources of inspiration during the development of the piece. Writing also played a role in the process and was displayed as part of the installation.
